Refined Heat Exchanger (RDHx)

Neurair’s Rear Door Heat Exchanger (RDHx) uses liquid-to-air cooling to capture and remove server heat directly at the rack. By preventing hot air from entering the data hall, RDHx helps maintain ideal facility temperatures — typically around 19°C or 27°C, following EU data center standards.

As a widely adopted solution, RDHx integrates seamlessly with liquid cooling systems like CDUs, reducing the burden on traditional AC systems, cutting energy costs, and enabling efficient high-density deployments.

Advantages

Direct Heat Removal at the Rack

Fanless, Low-Maintenance Design

Energy and Cost Savings

RDHx captures and cools exhaust air immediately as it exits the server, preventing heat buildup in the room and improving thermal compliance.

With no internal fans or motors, RDHx offers quiet, maintenance-free operation, making it ideal for high-reliability environments.

By reducing the need for room-level AC, RDHx lowers energy consumption and operating costs—while maintaining performance under high-density workloads.

Why We Need RDHx

As compute power and rack density grow, traditional cooling methods struggle to keep up—especially when dealing with back-of-rack heat discharge. RDHx captures heat directly at the source, eliminating hot air from entering the data hall and reducing the overall cooling burden.

It’s an ideal solution for data centers looking to enhance thermal efficiency without major mechanical changes. With its passive operation and minimal footprint, RDHx supports sustainability and lowers total energy use.

How it works?
RHDx.png

Cooling Directly at the Rack’s Exhaust

RDHx units mount on the rear of server racks, capturing heat as it exits the servers using liquid-cooled coils.

Liquid-to-Air Heat Exchange

Circulating coolant absorbs exhaust heat and transfers it via liquid lines to a CDU, chiller, or economizer.

Maintains Facility Ambient Temperatures

Prevents hot air recirculation, improving efficiency of HVAC and maintaining stable aisle temperatures.

Ideal for Retrofitting

RDHx units upgrade traditional air-cooled racks into high-efficiency cooling systems without structural overhaul.

Standards-Aligned

Complies with EU and ASHRAE thermal guidelines—typically maintaining 19°C to 27°C rack outlet temps.
